TASK 72-00-32-020-002-A00 LPC/Intermediate Case Module - Remove The Electrical Harnesses, Removal-002

General

Refer to the TASKs which follow for the other related procedures:

TASK 72-00-32-020-001-A00 (REMOVAL-001) Remove the hydraulic tubes, the thermal anti-ice (TAI) duct, the pneumatic starter duct and the EEC cooling ducts from the LP compressor/intermediate case module,

TASK 72-00-32-020-003-A00 (REMOVAL-003) Remove the LP compressor/intermediate case tubes and the electrical harness raceways,

TASK 72-00-32-020-004-A00 (REMOVAL-004) Remove the LP compressor/intermediate case components,

TASK 72-00-32-020-005-A00 (REMOVAL-005) Remove the LP compressor/intermediate case brackets and the bifurcation panel.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Remove and discard the lockwire before the component is disconnected.

Apply the approved penetrating oil before the removal of threaded parts with an interference fit. Let the parts soak before removal. For the approved oils and procedures, refer to the SPM TASK 70-64-00-640-501.

During the removal procedure make sure that the harnesses are held temporarily along their different lengths. This is to prevent too much strain on the harnesses, cables and electrical connectors.

During the removal procedure put the special plastic caps on the electrical connectors and receptacles. This is to give protection from unwanted fluids or materials.

During the removal procedure remove the lacing tape which attaches the different harnesses to each other.

Seal all openings when the tubes or components are disconnected to prevent contamination from unwanted material.

All the tubes, hoses and ducts removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-THD-V2500-1IA).

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

1. Refer to Figure.
2. Remove the bolts, the washers, the clips and the nuts at the clip positions 0766 and 0767.
3. Disconnect the hose 129 from the EEC union and the tube 159. Remove the hose 129.
4. Disconnect the hose 240 from the EEC union and the tube 241. Remove the hose 240.
5. Disconnect the hose 133 from the EEC union and the tube 235. Remove the hose 133.
6. Remove the locknut which attaches the tube 235 at the bracket. Disconnect the tube 142 from the tube 235. Remove the tube 235.
7. Disconnect the hose 134 from the EEC union and the tube 135. Remove the hose 134.
8. Disconnect the hose 238 from the tube 239 and the EEC union. Remove the hose 238.

2. 1. Remove the bolts, the washers, the spacers, the nuts, the clipnuts and the clips at the clip positions.
  2. SBE 71-0109 and Pre SBE 79-0087: Remove the lacing tape, adjacent to clip position 0568, which attaches the EEC harness and the ignition supply harness together.
  3. SBE 71-0109 and SBE 79-0087: Remove the braid lacing which attaches the split sleeves together and to the harnesses.
  4. NOTE
    After the removal of the EEC harness, temporarily attach the split sleeves to the EEC harness.
    SBE 71-0109 and Pre SBE 79-0087: Remove the bonded clips and the split sleeves at the clip positions 0535, 0536, 0538 and 1064. Remove the tape which attaches the harness to the ignition supply harness.
  5. SBE 79-0087: Remove the bonded clips and the split sleeves at the clip positions 1447, 1448, 1449 and 1450. Remove the tape which attaches the harness to the ignition supply harness.
3. 1. 4000KS-J2 to 4000KS-J5 and 4000KS-J8 to 4000KS-J11 from the EEC with the IAE 1R19416 EEC harness wrench 1 off.
  2. 4100KS-E and 4100KS-A from the relay box.
  3. 4000VC-A and 4001VC-A ELECT HARNESS-LIGHT DUTY-EEC/IGN SUPPLY HARNESS (71-51-42, 01-005) from the electrical harness receptacles attached to the flange brackets,
  4. 4016KS-A from the ACOC oil temperature thermocouple.
  5. 4020KS2-A from the HP compressor stage 7 solenoid valve (108.8 degrees).
  6. 4020KS3-A from the HP compressor stage 7 solenoid valve (228 degrees).
  7. 4020KS1-A from the HP compressor stage 7 solenoid valve (51.9 degrees).
  8. 4029KS-A from the HP stage 7 and 10 air solenoid valve STAGE 10 AIR SOLENOID VALVE (36-11-57, 01-100).
  9. 4023KS-A from the HP compressor stage 10 solenoid valve AIR-HPC STAGE 10 SOLENOID VALVE (75-32-53, 01-400).
  10. 4028KS-A from the stage 10 air solenoid valve AIR-STAGE 10 AIR SOLENOID VALVE (75-23-52, 01-100).

4. 1. Remove the four bolts and the four assembled washer nuts which attach the receptacle 4001VC to the bracket. Refer to detail on A.
  2. Remove the four bolts and the four assembled washer nuts which attach the receptacle 4000VC to the bracket. Refer to detail on B.
  3. Pre SBE 79-0087: Remove the two bolts and the two nuts which attach the tube 153 to the bifurcation panel.
  4. SBE 79-0087: Remove the two bolts and the two nuts which attach the tube 153 to the bifurcation panel.
  5. Pre SBE 79-0087: Remove the bolt, the washer, the nut and the clip at the clip position 1078.
  6. SBE 79-0087: Remove the bolt, the washer, the spacer, the nut and the clip at the clip position 1420.
  7. Loosen the tube nut which attaches the tube 236 to the tube 153.
  8. Remove the electrical connector 4008VC-A from between the bifurcation panel tubes, from the left side of the engine.
  9. Remove the lacing tape which attaches the harness bundles together between the clip positions 0249 and 0256. Remove the right side harness between the bifurcation panel tubes.
  10. Temporarily install the two bolts and the two nuts, to attach the tube 153 to the bifurcation panel. Tighten the two nuts.
  11. NOTE
    The electrical harness and cables removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-EHC-V2500-1IA).
    Remove the EEC harness.

2. 1. Remove the bolts, the washers, the spacer, the nuts, the clipnuts and the clips at the clip positions.
3. 1. 4100KS-D and 4100KS-C from the relay box.
  2. 4002VC-A and 4003VC-A ELECT HARNESS-LIGHT DUTY-EEC/IGN SUPPLY HARNESS (71-51-42, 01-005) from the electrical harness receptacles attached to the brackets.
4. 1. Remove the four bolts and the four assembled washer nuts which attach the receptacle 4003VC to the bracket.
  2. Remove the four bolts and the four assembled washer nuts which attach the receptacle 4002VC to the bracket. Refer to the detail on E.
5. Remove the four nuts, the four bolts and the two flame trap brackets which attach the combined fume and fireseal to the bifurcation panel. Remove the core engine part of the harness through the bifurcation panel. Safety the different parts of the combined fume and fireseal together with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE.
6. NOTE
  The electrical harness and cables removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-EHC-V2500-1IA).
  Remove the ignition supply harness.

2. 1. Pre SBN 71-0166 and Pre SBE 79-0087: Temporarily mark the datum clip positions during this procedure as follows: 0258, 0786, 0787, 0788, 0790, 0791, 0800, 0805, 0809, 0828, 0830 to 0834, 0841, 0848, 0850, 0852 to 0855, 0881, 0892, 0903 and 0922.
    SBN 71-0166 and Pre SBE 79-0087: Temporarily mark the datum clip positions during this procedure as follows: 0258, 0786, 0787, 0788, 0790, 0791, 0800, 0805, 0809, 0830 to 0834, 0841, 0848, 0850, 0852 to 0855, 0881, 0892, 0903 and 0922.
    Pre SBN 71-0166 and SBE 79-0087: Temporarily mark the datum clip positions during this procedure as follows: 0258, 0786, 0787, 0788, 0790, 0791, 0800, 0805, 0809, 0828, 0830 to 0834, 0848, 0850, 0852 to 0855, 0881, 0892, 0903 and 0922.
    SBN 71-0166 and SBE 79-0087: Temporarily mark the datum clip positions during this procedure as follows: 0258, 0786, 0787, 0788, 0790, 0791, 0800, 0805, 0809, 0830 to 0834, 0848, 0850, 0852 to 0855, 0881, 0892, 0903 and 0922.
    SBE 71-0109 and Pre SBE 79-0087: Identify the correct datum clip position 0537.
    SBE 79-0087: Identify the correct datum clip position 1408.
  2. NOTE
    Disassemble the clip positions 0855, 0848, 0833 and 0831 adjacent to the terminals GP1 to GP4 later in the procedure.
    Remove the bolts, the washers, the spacers, the nuts, the clipnuts and the clips at the clip positions.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors, as follows:
  4001EN-A from the scavenge filter differential pressure switch.
  1074GK-A from the hydraulic pressure switch.
  4000EN-A from the low oil pressure switch.
  4003EN-A from the oil pressure transmitter.
  4100KS-B from from the relay box.
  4005EN-A from the No. 4 bearing pressure transducer.
4. 1. Remove the bolts, washers, the clipnuts, the nut and the clips at the clip positions 0855, 0848, 0833 and 0831.
  2. Remove the 20 bolts and the 20 washers which secure the terminals at GP1, GP2, GP3 and GP4. Remove the four bolts and the four washers at the positions which are not used.
5. 1. NOTE
    It is necessary during this procedure to remove the terminal module with the general services harness and the EEC and ignition supply harness attached to each other.
    Refer to Step.
6. NOTE
  The electrical harness and cables removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-EHC-V2500-1IA).
  Remove the general services harness.
1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.
2. 1. Temporarily mark the datum clip positions during this procedure as follows: 0550, 0764, 0781, 0800, 0801, 0802, 0809, 0818, 0819, 0822, 0826, 0863, 0864, 0869 and 1075.
  2. Remove the bolts, the washers, the nuts, the clipnuts, the spacers and the clips at the clip positions.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors as follows:
  4000KS-J1 and 4000KS-J7 from the EEC with the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench 1 off.
4. NOTE
  Hole No.1 is at 12.5 degrees from the engine top position on the flange FB when you look from the rear of the engine.
  Remove the bolt and the nut which attaches the terminal module to the flange FB at the hole 9, Figure.
5. NOTE
  The electrical harness, cables and the terminal module removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-EHC-V2500-1IA).
  Remove the EEC and ignition supply harness.
1. Refer to Figure and Figure.
2. 1. Disconnect P800 and P801 electrical connectors from J800 and J801.
  2. Pre SBE 71-0271: Remove the bolts, the washers, the nuts and the clips at the clip positions 0876 to 0880.
  3. SBE 71-0271: Remove the bolts, the washers, the nuts and the clips at the clip positions 0876 to 0880 and 1210.
  4. NOTE
    The vibration harnesses removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-EHC-V2500-1IA).
    Remove the vibration harnesses.
3. 1. Remove the bolts, the washers, the nut and the clipnut at the clip positions 0870 to 0875.
  2. NOTE
    The three bolts hold the transducer and the baseplate VIBRATION TRANSDUCER (77-32-15, 01-410) together as a loose assembly.
    Loosen the three bolts VIBRATION TRANSDUCER (77-32-15, 01-400) which attach the transducer to the LP compressor/intermediate case.
  3. Remove the transducer with the three bolts, the baseplate and the packing VIBRATION TRANSDUCER (77-32-15, 01-420). Discard the packing.
  4. NOTE
    The vibration transducer removed in this procedure must have its maintenance completed as given in the Vibrometer Component Maintenance Manual (77-32-15).
    Remove the two bolts and the two nuts which attach the transducer bracket to the flange brackets (refer to the view at A).
1. Refer to Figure and Figure.
2. Temporarily attach the IDG cable connector to a safe position on the LP compressor/intermediate case with CoMat 06-086 TIES.
3. Remove the nut which attaches both cables to the earth position at the bracket. Remove the cable terminals from the bracket. Refer to the view at A.
4. Remove the two bolts and the two nuts which attach the clamp to the flange brackets at the clip position 0882.
5. Remove the bolts, the washers, the clips and the nuts which attach the cables to the brackets at the clip positions 0883 to 0886 and 0888. Remove the cable (previously attached to the earth position).
6. NOTE
  The 400VC to IDG cable assembly removed in this procedure must have its maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-EHC-V2500-1IA).
  Remove the CoMat 06-086 TIES which hold the IDG cable connector and remove remaining cable assembly.
