TASK 72-00-41-420-001 HPC Assembly - Install The HPC Assembly, Installation-001

General

This TASK gives the procedure to install the HP compressor assembly with the maximum horizontal method and the horizontal/vertical method of the engine disassembly/assembly.

To install the HP compressor assembly with the maximum horizontal method, do the SUBTASKS identified in Figure in sequence.

To install the HP compressor assembly with the horizontal/vertical method, do the SUBTASKS identified in Figure in sequence.

The procedure to install the HP compressor assembly with the major module replacement method and the maximum vertical method is given in TASK 72-40-00-430-001.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-051 Install the Diffuser Case Assembly

    1. Install the diffuser case assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-42-420-001.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-052 Install the No.4 Bearing and Rear Compartment

    1. Install the No. 4 bearing and rear compartment. Refer to TASK 72-00-43-420-001.

    3. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-053 Install the Partial HP System Module

    1. Install the partial HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-420-001.

    4. SUBTASK 72-00-41-580-053 Turn the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module and the Partial HP System Module from Vertical to Horizontal

    1. Turn the LP compressor/intermediate case module and the partial system module from vertical to horizontal. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-580-002.

    5. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-054-001 Install the Outer Combustion Chamber Assembly, (Horizontal) Method 1

    1. Install the outer combustion chamber assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-42-420-002-001.

    6. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-054-002 Install the Outer Combustion Chamber Assembly, (Vertical) Method 2

    1. Install the outer combustion chamber assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-42-420-002-002.

    7. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-055-001 Install the Stage 1 Turbine Nozzle Assembly and Combustion Chamber Inner Liner, (Horizontal) Method 1

    1. Install the stage 1 turbine nozzle assembly and combustion chamber inner liner. Refer to TASK 72-00-44-420-001-001.

    8. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-055-002 Install the Stage 1 Turbine Nozzle Assembly and Combustion Chamber Inner Liner, (Vertical) Method 2

    1. Install the stage 1 turbine nozzle assembly and combustion chamber inner liner. Refer to TASK 72-00-44-420-001-002.

    9. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-056-001 Install the HP Turbine Rotor and Stator Assembly, (Horizontal) Method 1

    1. Install the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-45-420-001-001.

    2. Install the components, external harnesses and tubes on to the HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-420-004.

    10. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-056-002 Install the HP Turbine Rotor and Stator Assembly, (Vertical) Method 2

    1. Install the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-45-420-001-002.

    2. Install the components, external harnesses and tubes on to the HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-420-004.

    11. SUBTASK 72-00-41-580-054 Turn the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module and the HP System Module from Vertical to Horizontal

    1. Turn the LP compressor/intermediate case module and the HP system module from vertical to horizontal. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-560-006.

    12. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-057-001 Install the LP Turbine Module, (Horizontal) Method 1

    1. Turn the LP turbine module from vertical to horizontal. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-560-002.

    2. Install the LP turbine module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-420-001.

    3. Install the components, external harnesses and tubes on to the LP turbine module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-420-005.

    13. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-057-002 Install the LP Turbine Module, (Horizontal) Method 2

    1. Install the LP turbine case and rotor assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-420-002.

    2. Install the turbine exhaust case assembly. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-420-003.

    3. Install the components, external harnesses and tubes on to the LP turbine module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-420-005.

    14. SUBTASK 72-00-41-420-058 Install the Inlet Cone and the LP Compressor (Fan) Module

    1. Install the LP compressor (fan) module. Refer to TASK 72-00-31-420-001.

    2. Install the inlet cone. Refer to TASK 72-38-11-420-001.
