TASK 72-40-00-030-006 HP System Module - Remove The HPC Assembly, Disassembly-006

General

This TASK gives the procedure to remove the HP compressor assembly with the major module replacement method and the maximum vertical method of the engine disassembly/assembly.

To remove the HP compressor assembly with the major module replacement method, do the SUBTASKS identified in Figure.

To remove the HP compressor assembly with the maximum vertical method, do the SUBTASKS identified in Figure.

The procedure to remove the HP compressor assembly with the maximum horizontal method and the horizontal/vertical method is given in TASK 72-00-41-020-001.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-063 Remove the Inlet Cone and the LP Compressor (Fan) Module

    1. Remove the inlet cone. Refer to TASK 72-38-11-020-001.

    2. Remove the LP compressor (fan) module. Refer to TASK 72-00-31-020-001.

    2. SUBTASK 72-40-00-580-052 Turn the LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module, the HP System Module and the LP Turbine Module from Horizontal to Vertical

    1. Turn the LP compressor/intermediate case module, the HP system module and the LP turbine module from horizontal to vertical. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-580-003.

    3. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-064-001 Remove the LP Turbine Module, (Horizontal) Method 1

    1. Remove the components, external harnesses and tubes from the LP turbine module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-020-001.

    2. Remove the LP turbine module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-020-002.

    3. Turn the LP turbine module from horizontal to vertical. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-580-001.

    4. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-064-002 Remove the LP Turbine Module, (Vertical) Method 3

    1. Remove the components, external harnesses and tubes from the LP turbine Module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-020-001.

    2. Remove the LP turbine module. Refer to TASK 72-00-50-020-005.

    5. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-065-001 Remove the HP System Module, (Horizontal) Method 1

    1. Remove the components, external harnesses and tubes from the HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-020-001.

    2. Remove the HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-020-003.

    3. Turn the HP system module from horizontal to vertical. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-580-003.

    6. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-065-002 Remove the HP System Module, (Vertical) Method 2

    1. Remove the components, external harnesses and tubes from the HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-020-001.

    2. Remove the HP system module. Refer to TASK 72-00-40-020-004.

    7. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-066 Remove the HP Turbine Rotor and Stator Assembly, (Vertical) Method 2

    1. Remove the HP turbine rotor and stator assembly. Refer to TASK 72-40-00-030-001.

    8. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-067 Remove the Stage 1 Turbine Nozzle Assembly and Combustion Chamber Inner Liner, (Vertical) Method 2

    1. Remove the stage 1 turbine nozzle assembly and combustion chamber inner liner. Refer to TASK 72-40-00-030-002.

    9. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-068 Remove the Outer Combustion Chamber Assembly (Vertical), Method 2

    1. Remove the outer combustion chamber assembly. Refer to TASK 72-40-00-030-003.

    10. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-069 Remove the No. 4 Bearing and Rear Compartment

    1. Remove the No. 4 bearing and rear compartment. Refer to TASK 72-40-00-030-004.

    11. SUBTASK 72-40-00-030-070 Remove the Diffuser Case Assembly

    1. Remove the diffuser case assembly. Refer to TASK 72-40-00-030-005.
